Fire at care home
6:10am Tuesday 7th February 2012

TWO fire engines were called to the Sunnymeade Care Home in Helliers Close, Chard, on Monday afternoon.
The alarm was raised just before 3.15pm to a fire in a bedroom at the care home. The incident was brought under control quickly and the fire was caused accidentally by an electrical short in a lamp.
There was little damage caused and nobody was injured.
A Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service spokesman said: “Smoke detectors were fitted and activated which alerted the Careline service who in turn contacted us.”
