Police hunt for car vandals in Chard

9:20am Wednesday 22nd February 2012

POLICE are appealing for information about vandals who damaged cars parked in Chard.

After the story in the News about fed up car owners in Combe Street installing CCTV to capture vandals who have targeted their vehicles, the police are looking to make arrests in connection with vandalism which took place just after 3am on Sunday, January 22.

PC Paul Thomas said: "We've received some excellent quality images of five people - two femals and three males - walking along Combe Street from the direction of the town centre at the time of the vandalism.

"We'd like those people, if they think they were in the area at that time to contact me via our new 101 number so they can be eliminated from our investigations.

"We'd urge them to make contact as quickly as possible before they're identified and receive a knock on their front door from us."

People can contact police on the non-emergency number of 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800-555111.
