BOWLS: Taunton men impress in county indoor league

Taunton men beat Woodspring of Weston-Super-Mare 124-45 in division two of the Somerset County Indoor League, winning on all four rinks.
Home rinks: K Lye, M Groves, K James and D Burch won 47-12; M Lawton, R Reynolds, N Savage and M Smith won 23-11. Away rinks: A Affleck, C Gilbert, H Scragg and D Ormesher won 27-9; D Banks, J Gubbins, D Buckingham and B Southwood won 27-11.
In their two leg match against Puriton in the Somerset & Devon mixed fours league, Taunton won on all rinks except one which was tied.
Home rinks: H Scragg, P Warburton, G Warburton and M Smith won 24-13; M Lawton, M Coley, D Buckingham and P Shaw won 36-9. Away rinks: M Lawton, E Sedgebere, D Banks and A Wood tied 19-19; G Granfield, R Buckingham, A Granfield and D Buckingham won 22-16.
In their National Double Rink match against Taunton Deane,Taunton won the home rink but lost the away rink, going down by two shots overall.
Home rink: H Scragg, M Smith, D Ormesher and J Amery won 27-14. Away rink: C Gilbert, D Buckingham, D Burch and B Southward lost 16-31.
